Lumi MMI® Software Update

How to Update Your Lumi MMI® Software

In order to update your software properly, the first thing you need to do is find out which firmware your Lumi model requires.

  1. Visit the Engineering Menu of the MMI® by clicking the CAR and BACK buttons on the console - and check the current firmware version

  2. After selecting your Lumi model and region, you'll see all of the available firmware updates available for your Lumi.

  3. Utilize a download manager for all the files - unpack the firmware using 7-Zip and put all the files on an SD card (NOTE: the card must be formatted to FAT32 file system)

    1. Do not put the firmware and map update on the same card, as each update must be done separately

  4. Install the Lumi firmware by going to the Engineering Menu in your MMI®, insert the SD card in slot 1, and select "Update"

  5. Select the source (SD1), choose the firmware, and select "Standard" on the following screen. The MMI® update typically takes about 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the file size
